Masquerade Ball: An epic evening for teens

The Main Library will transform into Mount Olympus on Saturday, October 20, from 8 p.m. to midnight for the fourth annual Masquerade Ball, a celebration of classical mythology.

The Summer Reading Oracle has spoken: Teens in middle and high school are invited to join us for an epic evening of food (NO alcohol), music and dancing. Don a snake wig and come as Medusa, the Gorgon who turned people to stone with a single glance in Greco-Roman stories. Or grab a big hammer (preferably rubber) and come as heroic Thor from the Norse tales. The only requirement is that costumes be appropriate for a public gathering. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.

Tickets at $10 per person are available at all library locations. Admission at the door is $15 per person. For details, contact Annie Pendergrass at 256-532-5962 or apendergrass@hmcpl.org.
