Calligraphy: Beginning Italic

Back by popular demand! Join instructor, Carol Tillman, for a six week course in Calligraphy. The class meets on Thursdays, beginning June 12  from 2:00 – 3:30. (Class will not be held on Thursday, July 3.) Registration is required. To register, please call 256-461-0046 or e-mail Teresa at tallison@hmcpl.org. There is a supply fee of $15.00. Please make checks payable to Carol Tillman and mail them to the Madison Public Library, 130 Plaza Blvd., Madison, AL  35758, ATTN: Tammy. Your supply fee must be received at the library by June 6 to reserve your spot in the class.

In this class we will learn the Italic or Chancery Cursive hand using a broad edge pen. The Italic hand dates from about 1400 and is probably the most common text hand used today.

Carol Tillman has been doing Calligraphy for over 35 years and is a member of the Calligraphy Arts Guild of Huntsville and the Utah Calligraphic Artists.
