The Big Read Poetry Contest Winners

The HMCPL would like to announce the winners of The Big Read Poetry Contest from Madison County.

They are: Rodelle Gardner, Jasmine Willis, and Haley Rose. All three of these students are in the 7th grade at Whitesburg Middle School. Each will receive a prize of $15 for their poetry submissions. The poems will advance to a statewide poetry contest being held in conjunction with The Big Read: Alabama reads The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, which the HMCPL is hosting throughout Huntsville and Madison County March 27 – May 1. New, simpler checkouts at Madison Public Library

How do I use the new RFID checkouts?Madison Public Library reopens with new RFID system to speed up checkouts. Work has been going on behind the scenes for some time to place RFID (Radio-frequency identification) tags in every item in the Madison Public Library, and MPL was closed on Monday and Tuesday of this week (March 8-9) to finish the installation.
