The Friends of the Library will hold a Blooming Book Sale on Saturday, June 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the main library, 915 Monroe St.

World-renowned scientist and science fiction author Gregory Benford will talk about his work on Thursday, June 14, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the main Huntsville-Madison County Public Library.
The evening begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m. Benford, a two-time winner of the Nebula Award and a professor of physics at the University of California, is the author of more than 20 novels. He will discuss "The Wonderful Future That Still Can Be: Science Fiction and Current Science." He’s returning to Huntsville as part of DeepSouthCon 50, June 15-17.
