A New Perspective on Alzheimer's and Dementia Care

Are you caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or Dementia? We can help! Christy Todd, Community Relations Coordinator from Senior Helpers, will be giving a presentation with a positive approach to caring for family members with these diseases. Her free seminar will include information on: 

  • How and when to seek help from a physician
  • The difference between Alzheimer's and dementia
  • How different parts of the brain are affected by dementia
  • Techniques to provide effective care

Teen Masquerade Ball Prep at the Madison Library

The 5th Annual Masquerade Ball is fast approaching. This year's theme is Cosplay! Don't know what cosplay is? Come to the Madison Library on October 3rd at 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm for a quick tutorial in cosplaying, ComicCons, and information about the event itself. Snacks will be provided. Spanish Storytimes

The Madison Public Library continues its once-a-month Spanish story time on Monday, September 9th, at 10:30 a.m.

Two Ways to Make Rag Rugs

Date:  Friday October 25, 2013

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Instructor: Crystal Kitchens

Maximum number of students:  10.

Open to adults and youth ages 14 and up.


Learn two methods of making rag rugs and how to prepare the fabric.  Learn a few simple crochet stitches and crochet a mug rug from fabric strips in class.  You will know how to continue the work at home to make a full sized rug if you want.  No crochet experience is required. Madison Public Library needs supporters at the Town Hall meeting tomorrow night, since the library addition is on the new Capital Improvement Plan, but currently unfunded. If you're in favor, we need to see our Friends in the crowd and on the microphone to show and tell about our support!

Recycle Roundup for Kids

Learn how to keep our planet healthy and have fun, too, during our "Recycle Roundup" at the Madison Public Library on Monday, April 15.

3 p.m. -  "Recycle Roundup," a puppet show focusing on reducing, reusing and recycling.
