Knitting Classes @ Madison

Learn how to knit a handbag at the Madison Public Library each Tuesday in September (4, 11, 18, 25). We will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Prior experience is not required.

This class is free and open to ages 14 and up. Please bring your own knitting supplies. You will need size 13 needles and 1 ball of super bulky yarn (150 yards). Two example brands that should be available at most craft stores are Bernat Felting Wool and Patons Shetlund Chunky. Other brands are ok to use as long as they are 100% wool. Learn how to throw a fabulous party that your guests are sure to remember! Paint your summer on canvas

Madison hosting belly dancing classes

Enjoy low-impact aerobic exercise while you learn the basic moves of Middle Eastern dance. The Madison Public Library will offer belly dancing classes for beginners on the last Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. 

This is a free class that is open to teens and adults. Sign-ups are not required.

Basket-making basics

Learn to weave a tote bag/purse at the Madison Public Library on Friday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crystal Kitchens will teach you how to handle reed, fill in the bottom, and shape a basket.

Dyed reed will be available for decorating your basket. No basket-making experience is required. The class is recommended for ages 14 and older.

The $10 supply fee covers tools and other supplies needed for the class. Bring a sack lunch. Basket-making is wet work, so wear old clothes and bring a towel.

Space is limited, so sign up soon!
