Hertha Heller Forum: Poets' Choice Readings

The Friends of the Library will conclude the 2012 Hertha Heller Forum series with Poets' Choice Readings on Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m. in the main library auditorium.

Members of the Huntsville Literary Association's Poetry Writing Workshop will share their work in a program that is open to the public free of charge. Refreshments will be served.

Showers Center Second Annual Walk-A-Thon

The Friends of the Showers Center Library will hold the second annual Walk-A-Thon fundraiser on Saturday, April 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Richard Showers Center, 4600 Blue Spring Road.

You may register on the day of the event for the one-hour walk, which will be held on the track behind the center. If it rains, the walk will be held inside the center. February 26 - Cathy Puett Miller, Community Impact Coordinator for Educational Programs, United Way of Madison County, presents "Reading and Writing as Tools for Life."  She will explore how reading and writing are faring in Madison County and discuss community initiatives and collaborations.
