LEGO Show!

Come to the biggest local LEGO display yet from the Tennessee Valley LEGO Club on June 29 and 30 at the Main Library.

We’ll have towns, working trains, and even a LEGO robot that solves the Rubik’s Cube in minutes. More than 100 prizes will be given away all weekend. LEGO fans of all ages will be inspired by the things they can build with plastic bricks.

How to Do Things: Filing Your Taxes

Don’t pay more taxes than you have to. Learn the rules from tax adviser Tom DeLong on Tuesday, March 19, at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Main Library.

DeLong will discuss changes in the tax code, IRAs, tax-form troubleshooting and how to declare dependents. There will be lots of time for questions and answers.

"Love in the Library"

Get in the mood for romance!

Huntsville-Madison County Public Library is sponsoring a “Love in the Library” Valentine Fair on Saturday, January 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. The Valentine Fair will be in the Main Library Auditorium, 915 Monroe Street. The event is free of charge and no registration is required.

Romance writers will be on hand to meet readers and sign books. Craft vendors will demonstrate Valentine goodies you can make for your special someone. A selection of writers will present readings and music.

Energy-efficient Cooking with Chef Donovan Fandre

Chef Donovan Fandre shares the secrets to delectable dishes that also save energy.

Chef Donovan starred in “The Microwave Master” series on PBS television and The Learning Channel, and has appeared on “Good Morning America,” “Regis and Kathie Lee,” Joan Lunden’s “Mother’s Day,” and other nationally televised shows.  He is the author of numerous cookbooks, including Jump-Start Cooking, released in 2006.

Meet ALISON in Madison

State Senator Bill Holtzclaw will introduce local residents to ALISON, the short name for the Alabama Legislative Information System Online on Monday, August 27, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Madison Public Library, 130 Plaza Blvd.
