Goodreads.com is the largest social network for readers and book recommendations. According to Forbes: "In just the past few years, Goodreads has grown to 11 million members, created 20,000 book clubs and have shelved 395 million books." Ms Phillips will demonstrate Goodreads and illustrate ways authors use it to connect with their readers.

The Murphy Writers Group, representing many different stages and genres of writing, meets on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 3 p.m. at the Eleanor E. Murphy Library Meeting Room.

Members of the group are given the opportunity to read to their peers and receive positive and helpful feedback. The group is recommended for ages 14 and older. The group is led by Kemi Elufiede, a PhD student at University of AL A&M, who has extensive experience in working with adult writers.

The members welcome a diverse group of individuals to join adventures with literature. Light refreshments will be served.
