Atrium

After walking through the external doors, you will pass through a second set of internal doors, and be facing the main Circulation desk. Walk around the Circulation desk. Art displays listed as appearing in the Atrium are located on platforms around the central stairs to the second floor, and events taking place in the Atrium take place in the open area between the staircase and the Audiovisual department.

For the months of February and March, Main Library is displaying the works of local artist Christina Wegman.  The art, made up mostly of oil paintings, is displayed in the library's atrium, near the stairwell.

Through April, Main Library is also displaying the work of several local quilters.  The quilts hang in the center atrium, visible from every floor of the library.  Several quilts are for sale, with 50% of proceeds going to the library.  Others will be donated to St. Jude's Hospital. In honor of Black History Month, musical duo Voices of Hope will present a free concert in the Atrium of the Main Library, starting at 6 pm.  They will perform a combination of Civil Rights songs and Negro spirituals.

About the Duo:
David Clarke is Sgt. Clarke, C-Ped for Oakwood University Police Dept. As a vocal performing artist, he has sung nationally and internationally for many years. He has performed with such artist as Moses Hogan and Dr. Roland Carter. He is a former member of the world-traveled Oakwood University Aeolian of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. Barbara Newton is visual and vocal artist, author and former educator for the Madison County School System. She has sung nationally and internationally for many years, and has performed with and for such artist as Wintley Phipps, Richard Smallwood and the Huntsville Teacher In-service. She is a former member of the world-traveled Oakwood University Aeolians of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama.

Serving in her second term as the mayor of  the Town of Triana, AL, Mayor Caudle is devoted to the overall well-being of her community and strives to be a positive impact through her service and efforts to improve the quality of life for her citizens. As owner of her own business, ASSIST Practice Management Services, LLC., Mary focuses her efforts on consulting with Hospitals, FQHC Centers and Physicians assisting their revenue departments with the necessities and experience to improve the collections. She is also the CBO Director of Patients Accounts for Sequel Youth and Family Services, LLC. Mary is the mother of three wonderful children and vibrant grandmother of four.

Festival of Trees
